Bulk Heating Oil Purchasing Scheme
Background
ORCC Trading Ltd is a not for profit enterprise located in Witney and promoted by the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council – a long established and well respected Oxfordshire charity. ORCC uses group buying to reduce the cost of domestic heating oil by an average of £50 per 1000 litre delivery. Group orders allow the supplier to deliver more efficiently as their costs are reduced and the group gets the same oil from the same suppliers, yet pays less for it. A single bulk delivery is also better for the environment than multiple deliveries to individual households and there will be fewer lorries on the roads. A number of suppliers have agreed that when ORCC places a bulk order they will make a donation to the Oxfordshire Community and Environmental Trust which makes grants available to community projects that benefit the environment. This will not affect the oil price paid by the consumer.
How to Join the Scheme
Local residents interested in joining the scheme should register in the first instance with ORCC Ltd by completing the form below and sending it to ORCC Trading Ltd, Jericho Farm, Worton, Witney, 0X29 4SZ. Hard copies will be at the Post Office.
ORCC will forward the names of new members to Bill Leppard who has kindly agreed to be our local Co-ordinator. Bill will then contact those on e-mail about ordering. Those who do not use email will be able to get order forms at Ashbury Post Office.
Members can order once a month, near to the end of the month, for delivery normally in the week commencing 2nd to 9th of following month. The cost and delivery window for the oil will be advertised at Ashbury Post Office as soon as it is known.
The first opportunity for members to order will be by 24th March 2011 and the minimum order is 500 litres.
