Chalk Grasslands: Plant Identification and Conservation

June 23 @ 10:00 - June 24 @ 16:00

Chalk Grasslands: plant identification and conservation – Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June, 10.00 am – 4.00 pm at at Berrycroft Hub Ashbury
This two-day workshop will introduce you to the beauty and diversity of Oxfordshire’s rich chalk grasslands. This special habitat, called ‘Europe’s tropical rainforest’, can contain up to 40 species of plants per square metre. Once widespread across the downs of southern England, it is estimated that more than 80% has been lost since WW2.
The course is suitable for all levels, including beginners. You will learn how to identify the plants of this special habitat, starting with some basic plant identification skills. We will spend most of our time outdoors, learning and practising plant identification and trying out some survey methods. You will also learn about habitat management and conservation.  For more information click here https://www.berrycrofthub.com/store/p59/Chalk_Grasslands%3A_plant_identification_%26_conservation__23rd_%26_24th_June_2018_10am-4pm.html
