Welcome to Ashbury

Ashbury is charming rural village of around 500 people located at the Southern tip of Oxfordshire close to the borders of Wiltshire and Berkshire. It dates back to Saxon times and is situated near important ancient historical monuments and remains such as the Uffington White Horse, Waylands Smithy and Alfred’s Castle.

Today it is surrounded by working farms and there are many lovely walks nearby for those so inclined, most of which afford spectacular views across the Vale of the White Horse. It is thus a perfect portal not only to an idyllic part of England but also to renowned heritage sites. Ashbury is a delightful place to visit and an even better place to live and work.

Getting Here Ashbury lies 9 miles West of Wantage along the B4507, and is situated at the cross roads with the B4000 (map; aerial view). Ashbury is also within striking distance of the M4, Swindon (with its fast rail links to London), Oxford, Reading and Bristol.
