DESCRIPTION:Badapple Theatre presents ‘Back to the Land Girls’ – On Friday 2nd October (doors\nopen at 6.30pm\, 7.30pm start) we are delighted to welcome back the Badapple\nTheatre group. ‘Back to the Land Girls’ was inspired by interviews with a number of\nincredible women from Yorkshire who worked on the land during WW2. Their\ncomic and poignant stories led Kate Bramley to create the heart-warming journey of\nBuff and Biddy who arrive in the countryside not knowing one end of a cow from the\nother. Their camaraderie and friendship sustain them on a journey of back-breaking\nwork but delightful independence\, of dreams of fame and romance and always the\nhope that the end of the war is just around the corner.\nWe are pleased to offer an early bird discount of £12.50 a ticket\,\nnormally £15. SUMMARY:The Avebury Vocal Ensemble Autumn Concert
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back The Avebury Vocal Ensemble (AVE). The programme is a mix of choral pieces dating from the Baroque period to the twentieth century with highlights including the Allegri “Miserere” and excerpts from the Mozart and Faure Requiems. A choral version of Elgar’s “Nimrod” and a couple of popular operatic numbers of Verdi will also feature. The common factor for this apparent variety show is that every piece has been used as part of the soundtrack to a movie. \nWe are pleased that Simon Dinsdale will be their accompanist. Do join us for an evening where there will be something to please everyone.
